Red, White and the Deep Blue--Amelia Island

Saturday, June 18, 2011

Oh I'm so tempted to escape the crowds of Miami for the Fourth of July fireworks display. But I still want it all--the traditional cookout with burgers and hotdogs and the spectacular display of fireworks.

The Ritz Carlton in Amelia Island is promising an island getaway steeped in American traditions for our country's Independence Day celebration.

Against the deep blue backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean, the festivities begin at the oceanfront lawn at 7 p.m. with fun and games for the whole family and music by Whiskey Beat, a country-rock band. The expert culinary team will be grilling a Southern-style cookout buffet featuring summertime favorites that include steak, ribs, chicken, pork and local fish. Complementing the grilled meats are chilled seafood, salads, sides and desserts from the resorts acclaimed pastry department.

For the grand finale, a symphony of music and fireworks begins at 9:15pm.

Don't you deserve a brief, relaxing getaway? Doesn't our country deserve a worthy celebration? Sure, go ahead, take that American Florida road trip, enjoy yourself and CHEERS to our great country!

Tickets for the Red, White and The Deep Blue Celebration are $69 for adults and $25 for children, ages 5-12 (inclusive). For information and reservations, call 904-277-1100 or visit www.ritzcarlton.com/ameliaisland.
